Day 35

May 26th

Today in class I wrote my conclusion and edited half of my work. This time I didn't rush and instead I worked slowly but the quality of my essay was better. I did notice some mistakes in some places and that I didn't include an P.E.A. At the end luckily I was still in the word count limits but very close to exceeding it. I feel like I have done better than before clearly. I used my time wisely. Maybe I didn't accomplish much but still this way my essay would turn out better. I should have done this technique all the time or at least next time. My mind did turn off sometimes because I was thinking of the math test that the class was going to have after class, other than that everything was good.

Day 34

May 25th

Today in class I worked well and quickly all thanks to what Mr. Sparks said the previous lesson. I finished my last characteristic but I did not go over it, instead I directly went on to my conclusion. Mr. Sparks changed his mind again and decided to change the deadline to thursday. I finished my conclusion but I felt like it wasn't good so I deleted it. I wanted to start again but it was to late and I  wanted to go get lunch. I think I accomplished a lot but all of my work was sloppy and not well done. I guess if I worked slowly and focused on the quality of my work more than just finishing, I would have a better essay. I did not use my time wisely, I wasted a lot of time because I rushed.

Day 33

May 24th

Today in class I think worked okay. I got to finish my religion paragraphs and I reviewed them. My reviewing isn't that good because I am always in a rush. I wasn't in the mood of working much because it was a Sunday morning. Not the best time to work on my schedule, but not everything goes my way. I could have accomplished more if I concentrated but i didn't have breakfast so that didn't help much either. I guess I learned my lesson for next time if there is. Mr. Sparks was trying to find out how many more days to give us to work and I preferred till the end of the week, but again not much goes my way (I got used to  it). He told us the dead line was Wednesday but then we didn't have class on Wednesday so he said Tuesday. That freaked me out like hell but it did give me a boost to work more.

Day 32

May 21st

Today in class I finished my first characteristic, art and architecture. I reviewed again but very briefly to check if I missed anything. Everything seemed fine, but I'd probably find more later on. I just got to start my second characteristic, religion, but I didn't get far with that. I had to get ready earlier a bit to catch my bus before it leaves. I think I worked well because I put lots of effort into my work and used up my time wisely and I didn't goof around much like I usually would. I am fully satisfied with my work for the first time and I intend on staying this way till the end. Next week I think I would be able to finish my essay but not so sure about completing my bibliography. I think I would need another lesson.

Day 31

May 19th

In class I went over my introduction once again because I felt like I could improve it in a way. then I started my first characteristic which was art and architecture. There was a lot to write about so I wasn't able to finish it all, I was only half way through. I finished writing about the pyramids and how they were built. I think I used my time wisely in one way but I did take a break or two. But I still think I did well. In my perspective I think I accomplished a lot. But I still think I did well. I tried my hardest and that's what counts at the end of the day. Next lesson I decided to at least finish the rest of the characteristics and if possible more. this way I can organize myself more. I did feel like I should add more information but if I did I'd probably go over the word count, and anywise what's wrong with being simple.

Day 29

May 5th

I finally started my essay in class. I finished the introduction. It may not sound a lot but I always find the introduction the hardest to write. I wrote about why egypt was considered a civilization, and what the rest of the essay would be about. I think I worked well and used my time wisely. I maybe could have accomplished more, but I am still satisfied with my work. My mind did switch off sometimes because I was thinking of space camp other than that everything was good.

Day 28

May 4th

I decided to work on my plan for my essay in class. Mr. Sparks recommend that we should it. my plan was now more detailed than before since i wrote bullet points for each characteristic. I think I worked well,but Idid not feel like I accomplished much because other people have already finished their first paragraph while I didn't even  start.  At least I have a very good plan which I think will help me allot in many different ways. I am satisfied with my work and all that I have  accomplished., although I was distracted while I was working by someone.

Day 27

May 3rd

Today we were going to start the actual essay. Mr.Sparks explained the basic points and his restrictions on the essay. He was quite strict about them and he wasn't going to accept an excuse. We first started with a plan. The class was told that if you have a well organized and structured plan, your essay would be better than if you had a sloppy plan. That helped work harder because I don't want an unorganized essay. I decided to type my plan if there were any changes I could change by pencil. My plan was detailed and it was organized, but I felt that I could organized it a bit more. I didn't have any more time to change or organize my plan more so I decided to complete it at home or next lesson. I wasn't fully satisfied with my plan, I should have thought of it more. I wasn't really focusing my mind sometimes got carried away with space camp because there was a discussion about canceling it. I also came late to class because I went to the classroom then I had to go back up to the lab (waste of time).

Day 26

April 30th

The class was told that today was the last day for research in the lab. It was a tense class for me because I still felt behind and lost. I tried to answer my guiding questions. I was able to but I couldn't get the answer to 2 questions from social class I have been working on those question for about 2 weeks and I still couldn't find the answers. I worked really well and focused allot. I guess when I am under pressure I work better and I think I worked well because I was taking my cast of in the weekend (happy mood). And luckily no one disturbed me like last lesson.  In my perspective  I think I that this lesson was the best lesson I had in all the lab. I was satisfied with the amount of work I accomplished but I still couldn't find the answer to the missing 2 guiding questions.

Day 25

April 28th

In class I didn't use the shortcut at all. I directly went to google which I thought would be easier to find information. I was right in a way because I could focus on one characteristic instead of reading a whole bunch and pick out the information seperately.  I googled about the Egyptian Religion and found quite allot of websites but they all basically had the same information. I was distracted a bit from some guy behind me (not going to say name), kept on fooling around and banging my foot int a bar. I did get some good notes and others were normal. I wasn't fully satisfied I think I could have done better if I focused a bit more.  At least I answered all my guiding questions for religion.

Day 24

April 27th

I arrived to class on time again and quickly went to the short cut. I focused on social class again. Surprisingly I didn't find much, so I decided to try something different this time. I went to ask. com and typed in some of my guiding questions but that was a waste of time. It didn't really give the answers I needed. So then I decided to try using youtube but that took to long to load. At the end I used brainpop. Brainpop was very brief and mentioned all the basics, so I didn't get much from it. Overall I think I worked well although I didn't get much information. Probably next lesson I would stick to googling. At least I know for next time. Overall I was satisfied with my final work. I didn't find the researching hard since there was a big choice of websites to choose.

Day 23

April 26th

Luckily I was in school for this lesson. I came into class on time surprisingly since I was late to most of the other classes. I quickly logged on to my account and directly went to the shortcut. I wasn't able to access them when I was absent, so I really needed to catch up. I focused mostly on social class because I felt like I didn't do well in it. I used most of the websites on the shortcut and I found them very useful. I think I worked really good since I just came to school and that my foot was hurting  a bit.  I worked really hard because I felt very behind then the rest of the class. I did not find lots of extra information, but the notes that I had were really good. When I looked over my work I found that they were to brief and that they should be a bit more detailed.

Day 21

April 21st

I worked at home again and focused on art this time since I couldn't find any more about architecture. Luckily I had more luck this time with art more than architecture, and I had very good notes which I think will have a big part in the essay. I used my time wisely and better than the other two days.  I got to work freely with no instructions or deadlines to meet. When I looked over my notes I think they were very good, and I don't feel like I missed out anything.

Day 20

April 20th

I worked at home again since I did not recover. I focused basically on architecture. I didn't find much information I may have checked five websites but out of those five only 2 were actually useful.  I got some notes but not as much as I expected. I think I worked well and used up my time wisely. Some distractions around the house but I managed. I rather work in school rather than at home because I am there aren't any distractions as there are at home.  Luckily I did find extra information which did not have a relation with my guiding questions.

Day 19

April 19th

Today I was absent but I decided to do some work at home. I worked the same amount of time as I would in class. I couldn't get the websites that Mrs.Flicher gave us because I don't have the shortcut. So I decided to look on my own. I found lots of useful information about art and architecture. Since I didn't have my folder I wrote all my information on my copy book.I think I worked hard despite my injury and the distractions around me. Luckily, there were no instructions or deadlines for me to follow so I had more freedom. I think I used my time wisely and worked well. Next time I should focus on a separate section instead of jumping around.Text Color

Day 17

April 14th

Today the whole class met by the multi media lab. Mrs.Flicher came to class and helped out. The class was first taught how to put a shortcut from Mrs. Flicher's folder to the desktop. That short cut was linked to a website that was made by Mrs. Flicher and had a bunch of websites that would be useful for our research. We were allowed to look at 2 websites and write down some notes. On one of the websites I didn't write any notes because it was the exact same information as the encyclopedia I looked at earlier. I didn't get to finish looking at the second website but I still did get some notes. We didn't do that much work but I still think I worked well because I followed all instructions perfectly. Mabey next lesson I will be able to work more and answer my missing 2 questions.

Day 16

April 13th

Today in class I looked at a couple of books but they only repeated all the notes I had. So I asked Mr.Sparks if it was ok to work on my blogger, but he said that there is no way that I could be finished. He knockeed some sence in to me and asked me if I looked at some encyclopedias. I went and checked and I luckly found a couple of pages on Egypt. Unluckly I didn't find the answer to my 2 questions but I did find extra information that I added into my folder. The bell rang but I didn't get to write down the bibliography. In this class I bearly did anything in the beginning  but then after Mr.Sparks told me about the encyclopedias. Overall I worked really hard and fast in the second half only. Since today was the last class in the library I hope I so better online and find the answer to those two questions.

Day 15

April 12th

Instead of meeting in the library the whole class met in the class room. The first half of the was wasted on debating if the class should spend a day or two more in the library to wrap up our notes. At the end of the class we decided that we would spend another two days in the library. I was satisfied with two days I perffered one day. We went up to the library and I went over some of the books. I completed answering the guiding questions that I came up with, but I could not find the answers to 2 questions from Social Class. So this class I focused on trying to answer those two questions, but with no luck. I think I worked hard in class but I was fustrated that I couldn't find the answers. At least I tried.

Day 14

April 2nd

In the library Mr.sparks told the class that it was going to be the last day in the library to work on our research project. That did make my situation tense. I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave anything out. I first started on the book from the previous lesson and I think I did well in that because I had a couple of good notes. Then I checked the library to see if there were any other books that are useful or that I didn't write a bibliography for. I found a couple of books that needed a bobliography. Overall I think I worked ok, probably because I didn't feel like I accomplished that much work. Looking for the books and writing the bibliography did take quite a long time.

Day 13

March 31st 

Today I was early for class because it was break and Maha was absent. I wanted to finish my bibliography. Luckily the other class did not show up in the library today, meaning there were more books to look at. I wrote all the bibliography for the books I used throughout the whole research. I worked well in class, probably because the environment was quieter without the other class. However, I did have difficulties in some of the books where I went to ask Mr. Sparks about it and then we asked the librarian then another teacher joined to figure it out. At the end they came with a conclusion that seemed right to me. There were some other books with this problem that I was able to figure out, according to the teachers solutions.

Day 12

March 30th

I was early to class because I had P.E. the lesson before. That gave me an advantage of choosing the books before anyone else.  The books were perfect for answering the rest of my guiding questions for Religion and Art and Architecture. By the end of the class time I was able to have all questions answered in full sentences. I think I am done, I have about 19 back to front post cards or more. If I by any chance find more information I will add it to my notes.  What I did in class is basically the same thing as yesterday (March 29th).  I worked well again because I was relaxed with no worries. 

Day 11

March 29th

In class I looked at my guiding questions and tried to answer them. I basically found all the answer from my pervious knowledge from books. There was only about three questions that I needed to research for. I am glad that I finished the guiding questions for all Art and Architecture and half Religion. I intended on finishing the rest of the questions tomorrow in class. I think I worked well on my work , because I felt relaxed with no worries during class. The only thing that was missing in class was Maha, it just didn't feel the same.

Day 10

March 26th

In class I intended to add the finishing notes to each characteristic, but there were more books about Egypt. So  I checked them out. They were very useful. Most of the new books I read had great information about religion. I think I worked well in class I looked over each book carefully and summarized it in my own words. I am just scared that I miss out a couple of important points. At the end I will go over the books to see if I left any important points. Hopefully I didn't, because then I wasn't working  hard enough on all the research days. I am now running out of stuff to write because it is the same thing everyday.

Day 9

March 24th

Today in class I did horrible. I didn't work that well, at all. My mind was full of worries, because the next lesson I had a math test, then a science test, and then I had a music assessment. All these were after each other. My brain did want to work, so basically the whole class I sat and thought about the tests and assessment (which was useless, and a waste of time). Now I regret what I did, it wasn't beneficial at all. I got one post card done at least (better than nothing). I think many other people have the same case as me.

Day 8

March 23rd

In class I mainly worked on social class again. I think I did better this time than the others time. I am  not sure why, but maybe because I didn't use my brain much in the previous class (P.E). I looked in about two more new books which I found very useful. I used both books for each of my characteristics. I must admit I did chit chat then and now, but at least I worked. During class some of the classmates kept on asking me in how many days we should have on our blogger. There was a discussion about it, and at the end we came up with eight days including today. Mr. Sparks kept us five minutes after class to talk about the amount of cards and the bloggers. Thankfully I had everything he mentioned, so I was on the right track so far. Other than I was one day late in my blogger process journal.

Day 7

March 22nd

Today in the library I looked for more books about social class because I did not have enough information. I carefully studied about six books and only two of them helped me in social class. I added two more post cards for social class. However, the other books did help me in my other two characteristics. In total I have added three of four post cards by the end of the day. I think I worked very well in class today. I have put lots of effort in my work. I stayed in at break to look at more books. I found some other books about Egypt that I have never seen before (probably other people took it before me). I took a quick look at the books by looking at their table of contents.

Day 6

March 19th

When I reached the library, I quickly started my research. Surprisingly the first book I picked up had a whole page about social class. That was exactly what I needed. When I finished looking at the book I only ended up with one post card, which wasn't enough.I checked many other books but with no luck. However, I did come across some good books about religion. I think I did good in class. Half the time was wasted on looking for a book about social class but other than that I did put lots of effort.

Today in humanities we met in the library directly instead of going to class. Everyone started their research. I have finished Art and Architecture so I added more information to my religion.
I have added about 2 extra post cards. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to start off with social class. I think I did well in class today because surprisingly I couldn't find that many good books for religion.

Day 4

March 16th

Today in class we took the register and waited for the late students to come and give their pathetic excuses. After that we directly went to the library and started our research. In class time I choose three books and looked at them, but one of them was useless and did not contain any information that would help me in the essay. I intended on doing Art and finishing it in class, but I found more useful information about Architecture. So I added more notes on Architecture and went back to Art. I was distracted because a girl joined the table and would not shut up, in that case I did not fully complete Art, so I decided to stay in the library during lunch and do more research. I was not allowed to keep my folder with me during lunch. Instead I took to post cards and wrote all my information on them, and I intend to put them into my folder tomorrow. Not much was accomplished during lunch but it's better than nothing. Hopefully I will do better next class.

Day 3

March 15th

Today in the beginning of class half the time was wasted because of people late and talking. Mr. Sparks told the class what we were going to for the next few weeks. We were going to go to the library every lesson till further notice and look at books and take notes. Our notes were written down on little post cards that we can slip into the pockets in our file. For half the lesson the class was in the library researching books on their civilization.  Mr. Sparks gave the class a sheet on how to write a bibliography for a book in the library. I first decided to start with Architecture then move on to the other characteristics. During class I finished all notes that I needed for Architecture. I also written a correct bibliography for all the books I used. I don't think I did well in class today. More work could have been accomplished if time wasn't wasted like almost everyday.

Day 2

8th March

Today Mr.Sparks did not attend class for some reason, so Mrs.Flicher came to subsitute. We went to the library where the librarian showed the class how to write a bibliography for the books that we would use in our essay. The books were going to be the first source that we would use in the assessment. We used "Easy Bib". The librarian kindly took out all the books we needed and placed them in a little section. No one was allowed to borrow the books or take the home. After that there was about 10 minutes till class ended. In those ten minutes we got to look at the books and find the civilization that would suit our characteristics best. I picked up a number of books and looked at each one carefully. I needed a civilization that explained each characteristics I chose clearly. At the end of the class I found out that the Egypt civilization was the perfect pick in my case.

Day 1

5th March

Today in class we were asked to choose three characteristics of a civilization. I was kind of lost because I was absent when this project was first introduced. We were then asked to write a minimum of eight questions for each charactristics. In my percpective it was not a difficult task. My three characteristics were "Art and Arichetecture", "Religion", and "Social Classes". "Art and Arichetecture" was the easiest in my situation, since we have already done many questions during class time with Mr.Sparks. I found "Social classes" very hard to come up with eight questions. I tryed to link my three characteristics so I'm not jumping all over the place when I start writing the essay. I started with "Art and Architecture" then linked it to "Religion" and then linked that to "Social classes". At the end when I finished I looked back at my questions and found out that I have made a mistake in "Social Classes". I basically had two of the same questions but written in a different way, so I changed that Question to a different one. I think I did good in completing the given task. I probably could have done better, but I didn't want to have any HomeWork. At least I competed my task (No H.W.)
